Default inexpensive fuel pressure tester?

Ive been wanting to check my fuel pressure lately, low pressure would explain the occasional problems I have such as unexplainable power loss at higher rpms...not too mention I popped up a P0300 code the other day to go with my usual P0420...I think the wiring got fubared when I did my high flow cat, so every so often it throws a code, but thats beside the point.

Im wondering what you guys use to check fuel pressure on the Bonneville and similar cars. Everything Im seeing is 30 or 40 dollars or even more, and that just seems like an awful lot to pay for a glorified tire gauge as far as im concerned.

I may be wrong, but I think that just means it didnt work on throttle body-injected GM'* (such as the old Tech4, 2.0 OHV, and the caddy 4.1/4.5) but wouldnt it still work on port fuel injected gm'*?

i don't know... buy it try it, keep yer recipt.

and as for quality tools cost money. yes. yes they do. and if this is something you are going to use again and again spend the money and get something good. if this is something you are going to use once., spend the $14 and then let it get lost in your garage.
