The fines in Canada are pretty steep if your caught operating a forklift with out a certificate up to $25,000 to the worker and higher to a supervisor and employer.
The theory part was 8 hours classroom time and the practical was 4 hours hands on.

Congratulations! Just remember to watch out for other people. Just yesterday I had a person drive right under a unit of (10) 4"x12"x32' Glulam beams as I was unloading them.These are wrapped in plastic and the slightest misturn or throttle input will spin them off the forks in a fantastic display of destruction.
