Default Im Back :-)

Hi All,

As most of you know, I took some time off to try and get my personal life in order. What I learned during this time, is that you don't really know people until you step back and take a look at the whole picture. Life passes us by so fast that allot of us fail to do just that.

Not too long ago, I finally was able to get custody of my son outside of the courts. (its pretty much impossible otherwise). This was a long and painful journey for me since I knew that my son was being Verbally Abused on a daily basis, neglected and left to do as he wished because of a mother who could care less as long as he was out of her hair.

My son now has been living with my GF and I since the start of the last school year and as the time has passed, I've realized that things between my GF and I have not been the same since.

I know this was a big step for her to take since its not her child and our lives would change allot, but I don't feel I have her support as much as I used to when he was coming to my house on the weekends.

This has put a bit of distance between us, which was the reason why I took some time to try and get things back on track, but so far, things seem to be taking a turn for the worse.

I'm Not sure how long this will last as we now face another school year which im sure will have its challenges, but I feel like my GF doesn't want to stick around much longer having to deal with my troubled son.

I usually like to keep things simple, but these days they don't seem so simple anymore. I spend my days getting in between my gf and son who are arguing tit-for-tat about something little, which then turns into an argument between my gf and I and I don't have to tell you where that leads to. It just goes on and on...........

Anyways, I just wanted to give you some insight since BC is my home away from home and you guys are like family.

I have learned allot during this break, and im hoping things get better, but if they don't, im afraid of what'* to come that will change it, but for now, im taking things day by day, which is all I can do.

P.*. Bill, Sorry I didn't return your call man. I hope you understand.

The teenage years can put a tremendous strain on the strongest relationships. There'* more I'd love to say, but I cannot presume to know your situation. So, instead I will just say, be strong but fair and make sure you can take the time to understand what it is you want to accomplish.

In the end the best we can do as parents is the best that we can do. Not terribly profound, but it'* a useful little saying that helped me get through some tough times with teens.

Good luck!

I'm sorry for the drama you are caused to endure!! Your GF should have known going in that when you are with someone you are with their family too. If you can't handle that then there is no point continuing. Family stays together through the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. I am glad you are back!
