Default IE6 help?

Been having a problem the last couple days at home. IE is really slow...kinda 'delayed' in everything. I suspect some kindof spyware or something. Adaware found nothing, transfer rates are still very high. It'* obviously a software problem.

How the HELL do you entirely uninstall IE6 so you can do a fresh clean install?

(I can type about 20 words before they start showing up on the screen)
Makes BC stuff VERY frustrating.

Yep, all your icons, and the start button and task bar? That'* all explorer.exe, and IE is part of it. Thats why it starts up so quickly, cause it'* part of windows. That'* also why IE has so many security problems, cause if you mess with it, you can totally F up someones computer.

Thanks, Mos. That did the trick....maybe. Checking it now. Looks like your software, coupled with Adaware is good stuff. Adaware found 5 tracking cookies your software left behind.

I still have the delay in typing. Cursor keeps up with my fingers, but the text doesn't appear until I pause.

Same symptoms. No change. This was a dramatic change, starting 2 days ago. Very sluggish.

Hmmmm. Never heard of the Keyboard running behind like that unless it was a KeyLogger program or lack of memory.

Loaded with memory. Fresh install of OS a month ago. Only IE6 is affected. No spyware or bots.

Bill, it may not even be you. The net has been acting strange ever since these latest rounds of worms have gotten released. My ISP sent out a letter a couple weeks back (in response to all the complaints) stating that many servers are still overloaded due to alot of peeps still being infected and not knowing it. I also suspect some of the critical updates for IE and XP. I remember a huge problem that SP1 would cause systems slowdowns, so I never installed it.

I have experienced many of the same symptoms you describe and I am on cable. It seems to clear up and be fine, then gets wacky every now and then.
