ICE!
Probably a few posts on this already.
We got hit by the ice storm that shut down the midwest this week and we're still on generator, waiting for AEP to get our power back on.
Had some minor damage to our property, lost a few trees.
Here'* pics;
Truck wasn't damaged.
And a pretty one for you;
This huge white oak is just off our property, it'* half dead but didn't lose so much as a twig!
We've been running our generator non-stop since the 23rd, and we just got our cable connection back yesterday.

sure glad you got a generator. We had a nasty ice storm in 2002. Most of us had no backup heat whatsoever. Pretty much shut everything down. I hope you have a way to buy gas and food. When we lost power, businesses couldnt even open. My house was 35 degrees when we woke LOL.
I gotta say this though, the peace, quiet and STARRY sky was nice, light pollution sucks sometimes.
Worst of it was when the power line behind the house fell ON the house, woke up the whole block at midnight LOL loudest crash I ever heard.
Any word on when you get power back and are they importing work crews from other states?

Kinda shows how dependent we really are on the utils doenst it? Sadly, I dont know many people who changed habits or changed the way thier houses work, most people I know are still total electric. :(

Well the power came back on today, so we're good now.
AEP called in crews from five states to get Ohio back up.
Just in time too because our generator died this morning. :? Dad ordered replacement parts and we're waiting for a new generator he ordered that runs on the power-take-off of our Kubota tractor.
Lots of trees down all over Pataskala, and still a bunch of individual houses out here and there. Cleaning up all the downed trees and branches is gonna take weeks.
All the ice on the trees is gone, as the temps here have been in the 40* range for two days. We're supposed to get up to 50* tomorrow.
