Default I miss my bonneville...

Working on the 3.1 MPFI in my cramped regal engine bay is such a PITA!!
I had to change the valve cover gaskets and figured while I was in there to upgrade from the 1.5 ratio stamped rockers to the 94-95 3100 1.6 ratio stamped rockers.
Its too late to take it out of the garage and try it out. I'm not trying wake my family up so I'll have to wate till the morning.
But, working on the engine for hours on end really made me realize how nice working on the bonneville was. Tons of space, you can actually see stuff like injectors, all the vac lines, no annoying overhanging UIM/LIM on the rear bank, and you didn't have to rock the motor forward. Ahh, I miss it.
So if your getting annoyed with working on your engine, just think, you could have this annoying 60*v6 or some dohc monster.

I miss my bonneville as well, even though it sits there alone in the back of the driveway, I miss driving it. Oh yea and I have that DOHC monster! lol

But I love the car that this freaking engine is in.

When I had my Cutty with the 3100 I dreaded changing just the thermostat! I never did get around to it. I don't even think I changed the plugs on it. But I didn't have the ambition/tools then that I do now.

Thanks for the kind words. I start working full time as a mechanical engineer the 5th of next month. Its a government job so I don't start out too high but I'll be making decent money soon. That means its time to start looking for another bonneville! I'm trying to get a 94-95, SSE or SLE, no sun roof, garnet red, with a black or gray interior. Still got the drivetrain, seats, wiring harness, and other misc stuff from the 95 too.

To get to the rear 3.1 bank I use some bracket thats from the bonneville engine. Its kinda shaped like a D minus the |. I unhook the dog bones, bolt the one end of the D to the engine mount, push/pull the engine with it, and hook the other end of the D around a bolt in the rad bracket. I wish I had a come-along....
That ICM placement is... well... interesting.

And btw, the 1.6 rockers in the regal made it a little more peppy and theres no ill side effects.

Isn't there a second hole along the dogbone to put the bolt back through and hold everything forward?
