The motor in my 81 is a 5L. Not a bad motor, but I'm upgrading.

I wouldn't put that money in a 5.0, not in a truck anyway. If I were gonna spend that money I'd upgrade to a 5.7 (350), which is what I'm doing. Like posted above, the 5.0 is to underpowered for a truck. Don't get me wrong, I've never had a problem with mine, but it could be stronger.
