Hey lash, I have respect for ya. I'm glad you had the integrity and respect to shake each mans hand and look them in the eye while telling them the bad news. Wish there were more of you out here. Good luck with the business.

Thanks, Mike.

IMO, life is hard enough without having others treat you like crap. It'* not too hard to take the time and treat others like you would like to be treated.

I have had the privledge to meet Mike in person also. He is quite the laid back kinda guy. I agree with Don (jr's3800),it had to be hard for him to do something like this.

Is there the chance of a call back? If so,hopefully you could get the chance to do the call backs and welcome them back in person

Yes, as soon as we can nail down a new project and know that we will have the work (a project is about 10-11 months of work at full production), we will try to call back any of them (well, almost all) that are still not working and want to come back.

It would be a pleasure to have the team back together.

Oh, Oh, I know that answer...........ask me...........ask me..................

Back on to the original topic, lash, you know something.....you'll never forget the expression on there faces. I remember one women cried, and on the oposite side, another tried to get me fired because he felt I was the one making the decision to lay him off. He took it so personal, that another Manager got fired because of the investigation he started with the Union. In other words, he didn't get me fired, he got another Manager in my department fired. You don't forget. People always tell me, " don't take it personal......................Ya.........easy to say.

Sorry to hear lash.

housing prices the average house worth 100,000 3 years ago is now worth $200,000. Rent has also gone up a ton.

My landlord wanted to raise my rent to $1000 a month vs $675 I have been paying the whole year. Reason was the property taxes have increased so much and insurance is more expensive..yada yada.....anyway moving out next week to a smaller nicer place.

Property where my parents live is going to exceed 1 million an acre, up from 100,000 an acre only a few years ago. Its crazy.

I've only had to cut people'* shifts, hours, or basically say "go home, talk to the owner, and good luck getting your job back", no lay offs (too much turnover, and a steady industry). I've only had to cut people based on their choices, not mine.

Sucks though, hope you get through it all right.
