Default I hurt. Bad.

Standing on TOP of a 6' a-frame ladder yesterday working overhead outside (yes, I know this isn't safe, but it was the only way to do it). Lost my footing (damn dead leg from an old car accident/back injury), and went all the way back and down. Landed on my back and shoulders in sharp 3/4 minus gravel. JUST missed impaling myself on a 4' wooden picket fence behind me.

And we ALMOST had it on a camera phone. By the time my friend turned around to shoot the pic from a distance, I was half way to the ground already.

It'* a catch-22. My previous back injury and resulting partial paralysis on the left side CAUSED this one (other than my poor judgement). Yet it can cause more damage quite easily.

Wren, as a suggestion: try acupuncture. Your health insurance likely covers it and there'* NOTHING I've found better for managing pain.

Sorry to hear you got hurt...glad it wasn't worse.

Again we are reminded that safety should come first. That warning about not standing higher than X step should be heeded and it sounds like others were around if you needed a hand. At least one could have stood behind you to soften the fall when you went down.

Another example of proof...we should do as he says..not as he does.

Warning was clearly read and understood. Again, this was the only possible method of getting the work done.

The good news is that I finished my brakes before taking my backwards dive.
