Lounge For casual talk about things unrelated to General Motors. In other words, off-topic stuff. And anything else that does not fit Section Description.

I hope you have these, if watching the State of the union

I didn't pay close enough attention (sorry Jim... perhaps someone else will chime in)

Probably the full text of the speech will be online soon (if not already)

I think the state of affairs can be summed up pretty simply:

Cindy Sheehan, the lady who'* kid was killed in Iraq and has been attracting so much attention because she is publically fighting this tyrant/non-elected fraud of a president was arrested in the House Gallery because she was wearing a shirt that said "2,245 Dead. How many more?" and refused to cover it up.

THAT is where this scumbag has brought this country.

Our ability to publicly dissent from our political leaders is the single greatest thing about America. Our right to give a damn or not give a damn stems from this.

Sorry, sensitive subject. Alot of my family'* blood has been spilled protecting these freedoms over the years.

Maybe she should have stayed outside and banged her kettles with the other protesters.

FLASHBACK: Man Wearing Anti-Clinton T-Shirt Removed from Senate Gallery at Impeachment Trial

Cindy Sheehan, the anti-war activist who was removed from the House gallery last night before the State of the Union address for wearing a t-shirt with a political message, is not the first person to be tossed from a Congressional gallery at a high-profile event for wearing a political t-shirt.

In the early days of the Senate'* impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton in January 1999, a Pennsylvania man named Dave Delp was removed by the Capitol police from the Senate gallery for wearing a t-shirt that said, "Clinton doesn't inhale, he sucks."

The Pennsylvania school teacher was yanked out of a VIP Senate gallery and briefly detained last week during the impeachment trial for wearing a T-shirt with graphic language dissing President Clinton.

Delp, 42, of Carlisle, Pa., and a friend had just settled into their seats when four Capitol security guards approached them. Delp said at the time that he was ordered to button his coat and follow the guards. Outside the chamber, he was told "several people felt threatened by your shirt."

Even after establishing that Delp was a guest of Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), the guards wouldn't let him back in and escorted him to a basement security area, where they questioned and photographed him.

After being given one of the photos as a souvenir, Delp said he was banned from the Capitol for the rest of the day. "They were polite and professional," Delp added, "but they really did scare me. I think I should have been given the chance to cover up."

You don't like American Idol? Last night was hilarious!! Especially the girl that sang "I like big butts..." and those others that are sure they are the next idol. I know I can't sing and I would NEVER get up in public, on tv (no less) and make a fool of myself.

I watched that and Mythbusters. I really enjoy Mythbusters. Those guys are too funny. They made crossbows out of newspaper, homemade glue, and a inmates plastic tray to see if someone could get killed 15 ft away from a prison cell.
