I believe this type of vehicle would fall in the Non-EPA/Limited highway use category. Meaning, it comes from the factory with the most power that CAT can put out. Legally.
It would be illegal for it to cross country with a normal 53ft van trailer hauling 5000lbs of new diapers though.

One of my buddies has a full custom long nosed Pete. The TQ/HP he is putting to the wheels is crazy! I'm sure that'* just his "Oversize Tune" though, and he probably dials it back for normal loads.

True Nick, there are people out their that tune the trucks, but most of the over size tractors come from the factory with mad stupid power.

we used to have a generator that was a detriot v12, it had two */c'* and two turbos, i always thought that would be cool to do something like that with, but i cant imagine the fuel that would go through after cranking up the power on it.
