Default I cracked a windshield today.

Not even on purpose... The pollen is getting thick where I am and today was a nice 70 degree and cool day. So I washed the Bonne.... Everything went fine. When I hit the wife'* 99 Jimmy with the hose I heard a pop. I didn't see anything at first then I noticed a 6 to 8 inch crack in the windshield..... WTF? It wasn't all that hot tiday... Granted the water from the hose is cold, but I've never seen tempered glass crack like that.... I even had it sitting in the driveway with the windows down before I washed it. I guess I"m calling State Farm tomorrow.... Grrr....

They can... if their a little older or were put in wrong. Some times a chip will start to spread with sudden temp changes.

There were no visible chips and the windshield was the original GM...

Sudden stress on an older window, with a potential for having minute gravel nicks.

I had a windshield in a '94 crack the day after a piece of gravel smacked it. No cracks that day, but the following afternoon, when the sun hit the relatively cool windshield, an 8 inch crack developed.

Sorry 'bout the hassle, but if insurance covers it, you should have a nice new one shortly.

Yep, insurance is covering it.... Just bizzare for it to happen.
