No fines in Oregon for driving while celling, but they can get you for inattention if you aren't doing well with it.

Most states that have fines have a disclaimer in the law that allows for hands-free devices.

I would think the law would have to exempt hands free device. How is that different than just talking to your buds in the car?? My car has On Star...hands free of course...but expensive as hell! I dont know how they think the regular guy can afford it!

But...it has been handy when i lost my cell phone for a few days (it was in a jacket that I rarely wore).

lol... if you can afford the vehicle that comes with onstar you can afford it... my truck has it.. Ive used it to open my door once... I forgot my keys in the house and I had a spare in the truck...

A friend of mine just purchased a new Audi A8 (yes..he has WAY more $$ than i do)...but his On Star allows his portable cell phone to connect into the car'* audio system.

Anyone heard of aftermarket systems that will adapt to the Bonne'* system? Now THAT would be a good way to get around those laws in the US. Hope they dont come to Canada with those laws!

I have a handsfree kit that plays through the stereo. Sounds great with the Bose.

Is that a bluetooth setup? i've seen some neat thigns with bluetooth and cars, and phones.
