Hurricane KATRINA..... check this out
The Russians didnt make that hurricane??
Bush didnt either???
Guess that only leaves Mother Nature, unless ya want to blame the New World Order LOL
Agreed with everything, the media hasnt helped this at all, but maybe people will take weather seriously and society will start focusing more on the poverty phenomenon.

WHEW!! Good thing this topic is going over smoother than I thought it would... lol. I was sure people would come after me for sounding racist, b/c I'm not at all.

#2a. If you run out of food and water, find a store that has some. (Remember, shoes, TV'*, DVD'* and CD'* are not edible. Leave them alone.)

we cannot refrain from voicing our thought-out opinions merely because they might not be popular...nor should we too hastily express our views even when we believe they are popular...prudence dictates that we be as harmless as doves, and yet as wise as serpents...alright...i'm done waxing eloquent

Adversity can bring out the best in people, and it can bring out the worst.
The oddity in this for me is that 9/11 brought out the best. There was no looting, crime, or violence in the aftermath. Only a massive outpouring of help, support and caring.
Then there'* Katrina.
One of the things not mentioned in the above commentary that Mel shared is how many animals were left behind. I find that difficult to understand. My animals are part of the family. They go where I go, particularly in that type of a situation. How can so many people do this? An animal is a responsibility. They cannot fend for themselves.
I'll also never forget the live interview with one of the 'victims' of the Hurricane. He was at the Superdome, and was being interviewed live, complaining that there weren't enough bathrooms, food or water. Under his left arm was a DVD player still in the box.
This man'* credo: "It'* the government'* responsibility to care for me and give me everything I need while I rob the local businesses blind".
EDIT: This topic is being handled with much more maturity and objectiveness than the LAST time someone tried to bring this subject up. Just be aware that the Moderators are watching it VERY closely to make sure it stays that way.
