The BIG 40 here! 41 next April. So that you kids can put that into perspective, here are what my early memories are of.
*I remember the Watergate hearings on TV. ( I know some of you kids are thinking, Watergate, wasn,t that that really bad movie Kevin Costner made?).
*Also, my first boy-hood hero was none other than the Late, Great Evel Knievel.
*I remember when gas smelled as good as laquer thinner. When you could leave gas in your snowmobile all summer and it would still run great the next winter.
* And I remember that almost all new cars came with AM radio only. If you had money, you had AM / 8 track. ( Anyone else remember how to take apart and re-wind an 8 track after it wound itself too tight? Oh, and if you were into hi-end audio equipment, you had a reel to reel tape deck.
*And lastly, I remember when companies with American names were actually American owned. (Honest, they really were American owned!)

:o Never thought I would be one of the oldest here. 43 1/2!! I remember when it was more fun to play outside than inside, when it was ok to go play in another part of the neighborhood and your mom and dad didn't have to worry if they would never see you again. I wish I had my AMC with the straight 6 and manual 3 speed trans, out ran a few mustangs and camaros(low end) with that thing.
