It just gets worse and worse.

And of course, all you'll hear is how high the labor costs are. Of course no one will talk about how GM execs have been making bad decisions for years and forcing the engineers to cut costs (and thus quality).

I think it would be a shame if GM went under (haven't read that link yet). Not that I will always buy GM, there are other cars I like. I would love another Bonneville someday though. I just love working on these engines. As far as working on any of these new engines out there now by Nissan or even GM, nothing will beat the overall pleasure of having a Bonneville.

I think the poor quality of domestic cars over the late 80'* and 90'*, even early into the 2000'* hurt them. The tide is changing, but its going to take time. Suck up the losses.
My next car, including EVERY one after that, be it a car or truck or whatever will be a GM PERIOD.
No questions asked. When I go out looking at cars, I don't pull into a Ford, Honda, Toyota, Kia etc dealer... I go to a GM dealer.
Call me what you will, I don't care. Say other cars are better, I don't care. I always have and always will be die hard GM.
