Default How did you spend your Easter?

So much for the egg hunt...my Brother and I headed out to the parents to help my Dad with some yard work. Namely, chopping down a bunch of dead black locust trees. Well, pushing them down...
While Sean and Dad took turns sawing up the downed trees, I was back in the woods with the Kubota, knocking them over and dragging them out with chains. Run the front loader up as high as it goes, get a little running start and bash them down. When they start to go over, push the bucket down to keep it coming down in spite of the massive tangle of vines it inevitably falls into...
Unfortunately, about halfway through the day, a weaker tree snagged on some vines and busted the top half off...back towards ME...got hit with about 25lbs of falling rotten log. Fortunately, it hit the roll bar first, and snapped a bunch off, but it still caught me a good whack across the side of my jaw and right wrist. Little sore, but otherwise fine. I can feel the bruise, but can't see any discoloration.
Later on, we all went down in the creek to burn off the built-up crap in a log jam, so we could get at it with rope and the tractor. Unfortunately, we ran out daylight before we could start sawing things up. Oh, well, next weekend...

We also got in a bit of a water fight...Dad doused Sean and I by throwing a big chunk of TREE in the water in front of us...

Oh, yeah, and we found a present for Mom! Damn near totally rotted-away deer carcass!
Mom'* a Naturalist, runs the nature center at Blendon Woods here in Columbus. She'll clean the bones off, and bleach them so they can be used for educational programs. It'* unusual to get a full skeleton from a deer. This one is almost perfect except for the broken leg that it died from.
Cold weather kept the smell down, but you can definitely tell the raccoons were at the carcass all winter.

So how was everyone else'* Easter Sunday?

I missed going to a restaurant with my family, but I did some site work and later played video games. Because of the change to the Gregorian calendar from the Julian calendar, the Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates Easter two weeks after the Roman Catholics et al.

went fishing in a trout stocked crrek and almost got some tickets because we were un aware that you could not fish in stocked water untill next saturday at 8am.

then we had an egg hunt in the same park and hid almost 3 dozen egg'* 2 dozen were hardboiled and colored with glitter and pictures of animals and a dozen were filled with prizes and candy.

then we played some frizbie and had a itchy ball fight ( the lil spike balls from the tree'*)
and after the itchy ball fight we let the lil ones ride there bikes while me and the mrs layed on a blanket in the grass talking.

then we went home and made whole chicken ( lemon & lime flavored ) roasted , with some white rice and beans and some brussell sprouts and borcoli with melted velveta cheese.

then we watced a movie ( horton here'* a who ) and put the kids to sleep and then me and my wife all alone decided it was time to get down and dirty so she got down on her hands and knee'*

and started hand scrubbing the wood floor'* with some murphy'* oil while i went to my son'* room and did some more compounding so i can get it ready for a custom paintjob that i have in mind...

oh and get your mind outta the gutter will ya there'* kid'* on this forum.. what did you think i was going to say.....

We sat around the house playin the Wii until about 4pm. Then we got packed up and headed to her mom'* for dinner. After dinner I went with the brother-in-law and mom to look at a 94 Grand Cherokee that was a wasted trip. When we got there he told us we couldn't drive it due to the front axle being so bad that the tire bounces when driving it! Why didn't he tell us that on the 3-4 phone calls to hook up with him . So then we went back to have some cake for the brother-in-law'* birthday. Then the night started! Lol! We left at 11pm to head home and wouldn't you know it the darn trans went on the wifes 95 . So the sister-in-law and her fiance drive out to give us a ride to follow the tow truck to my dads then back to our place. We finally got to bed around 3:45am and we both took the day off from work today. So yeah it was an interesting Easter Sunday and will be in my memories forever.
