So, this Wed is the wife and my fifth anniversary. We were planning on going out of town for the weekend to celebrate. I got permission form my boss to leave early today to drop the kid off at her sister'*
Well, of course the car has been broken down all week. The boss said something the other day about leaving on Friday and I said I probably wouldn't need to because of the car.
So, he said how I about I rent you a car for the weekend for a gift.
How friggin cool!
I am just getting the economy, I think it is an Aveo, but this rocks!
Enterprise is picking me up at work to go sign papers.
Should be a good weekend. Both kids are gone at the Sister-in-law'* / grandpa,* for the weekend.

OMG, so true. I may not have thought of that
. The wife may have, but I am glad you pointed that out. Have to grab one this weekend while we are out and about.
Believe me, I will make sure I so my appreciation.
You can;t imagine how nice it is to have aboss that appreciates you.
This is a small law office. I am a paralegal/ admin assistant and it'* just me, the Attorney, and right now we have an intern who is also going to be a paralegal.
The attorney is hardly ever here. I think like 5 days this whole month. I basically run the office for him, including meeting wiht most of the clients and have even gone to court on his behalf.
When he is here he usually buys lunch.
He has even let me use his vehicle to run personal errands on company time.
Oh yeah, and on Monday he is taking me, the intern, my wife and the intern'* BF all to lunch at a nice restaraunt here in town.
The best part is I have only worked for him less than 6 months, and I have gotten 2 raises already.

Yeah, I am very thankful. Only real downsides are no benefits ( yet, may happen some day) and the pay will never make me rich. But it'* honest pay for the area.
Funny thing is, I used to walk right past here every day when I was on my internship, and I always though it would be a good place to work. Never applied though because I knew I'd be going for the job of the person I'd see when I walked in the door. After an unsuccesful job hunt, my school called and had set up the interview for me. He had lost his assistant and was doing it all himself. We talked for over an hour and I knew I had the job about half way through.

Its good to see people that still care about their employees.. If there were more employers like that in this world, the world we be just a little bit better...
Its Awesome that he thought enough of you to do that...
A nice card should do the trick
