Talking house thread

here is a teaser pic I signed the papers for the loan today and looks like it will be a 4.5% fixed rate for 15 yrs. crappy thing is the neighbor to the left of it seems to be an ugly nosy little B**** so a 6 ft privacy fence will be added to the property to keep prying eyes out. From this far away the house looks good but you get closer and the flaws start showing up but that will be slowly remedied and that log look will be dissapearing in favor of steel siding to blend in more fully

I have found the best way to stop nosy neighbors is to stare into their own back yard.

Congrats on finding a house! Finally a place to call "your own" home!

With my personal experience with fencing here in NY, make sure you check your local zoning laws/town laws etc when it comes to putting a fence up. Short story...here in my town, a new homeowner bought a house with an existing 6ft wooden fence. Old and rotted, he decides to replace all the panels and whatever posts that needs replacing. Half way through his project, the city comes over and reems his *** for not getting a permit, once he got the permit, the inspector comes back after most of the new panels are up and tells him he cant replace all of the panels, only the ones that are damaged. WTF over? In the end, I ended up picking up about 30 fence panels, a pallet of concrete and about 20 4X4'*. He sold the house and moved up north a little out of the city.

So, to avoid headaches, make sure you do all of your homework first.

Good luck with the new home!

Looks great for your first home. Nice yard and interest rate. Once you move in, wander to the fence in your boxers, finish a beer and chuck it in their yard. Scratching your nuts is optional.

Congrats, looks nice. I agree with Venom'* solution, that'll probably keep them from wanting to be too nosey about what you do.

it is not a huge shop but it is a place to work out of the elements

well I will say this she would make the thing that popped out ugly betty look like a beauty queen.

and as for the fence thing it is "technically county zoned" so pretty much anything is fair game from my understanding.
