yes but it is very hard and just because you downloaded the torrent doesnt meen you downloaded the file 
They would have to get ahold of the tracker and that is impossible because no hosting company would give the riaa access to it.

I have to chuckle hard in bewilderment over all the hoopla just for the sake of cheating artists their due.But America has become a culture of "getting away with it." A couple of principles to think about. They have their own software genius'* and dont need to rely on 2rd party software per se, Having a database of who'* doing what and bringing it out in a legal manner is legaly time and money consuming. Also Untrackable is a fantasy phenomema. In the physical world every reaction has an equal and opposite reation. For what every technology that arises, a counter technology will become discovered. It'* that simple. And why OS owners will never rid the internet of hacking. I keep waiting for someone to really wreek havoc on paypal, either for gain or just for grins.

I just baught my mom a nickelback CD for her birthday $13!!!!
at least now they have I tunes and stuff but they are even opposed to that.
Really they make far more mony from one concert than a normal person makes in 3 years.
Yes, they are being "cheated" out of money. But, it is thier own fault maybee if I could go to walmart and pick a cd up for a few bucks I wouldnt need to download it.
besides if I truly like an artist I will buy thier CD'*.
Same goes for anime I watch alot of it and it is a very grey area as some of the shows are not licensed in the US and some are. In reality it helps the companys out almost like free advertising.

There no excuse for cheating. Just doesnt fly with me. In todays economy i dont think music is overly priced. You can pay that for a movie ticket and popcorn and only be left with indigestion an a memory. Repins, glad ya feel as I do. For $9.99 a month I enjoy more music then I could get my fill of and have patch cord to my stereo and even FM recieving remote speakers on the deck. And if I like a particular song enough to want to burn it for the car, .99 cents is a great way to buy a song without all the typical filler on cd'* 
Also alot of artists allow for a few downloads of mp3 and the sources are to numerous to list here.

I do have to admit, I'm guilty of downloading a few things I should have bought. And, if I get busted for it, guess who I will blame....
