I'm going to look at the car Thursday night. Do the test drive, etc.

The 99 is our third Bonneville. I'd like to buy an 04 SLE....but I'm not the only one involved in this buying decision. Plus, I'm ready for a change.

Age is starting to show on the 99, plus the miles are adding up quickly. Jumping in the car and driving 500 miles one way without bating an eye are requiring more thought! Everytime we go far I have to think about what will fail next.

I'll let everyone know what we decide. I'll try to get some pics too.

trade it in... when you start feeling like that about a car, its definitely time to get rid of it(at least in my eyes).

They're not TOUGH, but they're reliable when not abused. They're not really easy to work on. Quite cramped in comparison to the Bvilles, but not impossible.
Civics are great, reliable transportation, until the ricers get ahold of them and go 1000 past the redline and wonder why they blew it up. My neighbor has a 92 Dodge Shadow V6 that just turned 330,000, with NO major work to it. But like Will said, they are reliable when not abused, but my guess is you won't abuse it.

The car definitely won't be abused. I don't abuse anything we own. Plus, I'm very anal about maintenance.

As for trading in the 99, we're not considering that route. I still really like the Bonnevilles. Plus, that car is worth a lot more to me than it would be to a dealership. For the $2,000 or so that we'd get on trade, it'* not even worth it. I'll keep it and cram another 100,000 out of her. But those will just be more local miles.

That civic (and my cavi) get 30 CITY.

Vital, sounds like a killer deal to me. I understand cars are generally cheaper down there, but locally there were two 2004 civics with around 20k on the clock for $12900.

I would get the civic. It seems like a very good price. My friend has a 2003 2 dr 5 spd and likes it just fine. I drove it and it drives well. Been in one accident and the car held up great and was able to be fixed.
