I used to have a Hyundai Elantra before it got wrecked and I happened into the LeSabre. Having spent way too much time poking about that car, it was a very well-built little car. And it truly was like nothing else on the road, as far as classiness for the price. The interior put more expensive cars to shame. Looked pretty neat, too. Reliability was pretty good to boot.
For mods, people are putting down good numbers via forced induction on Hyundai'* Beta inline-4 and Delta V6. So it'* been done, and done fairly slickly. Hyundai may not be the first, but whatever they do is generally done pretty well nowadays. This isn't the throwaway Excel we're talking about.

Hyundai kia etc. have done so well because they made cars targeted at the largest class on the planet, the poor. Cheap to produce and cheap to sell has done good for them. Now they want to make a move into the more upscale market. Thats all good as long as americans remain a consumer country. Which I dont see happening for a whole lot longer.
But kinda cool lookin for a hyundai. Maybe worth a test drive.
