Im with everyone in favor of killing it!! Funny thing is, When I go to my car after work, I always noticed a web line going across my windshield. Finally the other day, I saw the darn thing crawl out from my windshield vents, and squashed the thing to death!!

Yea, Brown Recluse. Pretty Common here in Kansas...

However, Most spider bites are still pretty nasty, and i'm not ashamed to say that spiders make me run like a girl lol.

The only good spider or snake is a DEAD spider or snake!!! I can't stand either.

99.99% of spiders are completely harmless, couldn't even leave an itchy bump. Besides, did you know that on the average lawn there are over twenty spiders per sqare yard? In long grass, that number can go up to over a hundred. Most of them are the size of an ant. If you want to be terrified of something, try for something less pervasive.
Brown Recluses are nasty, because they have a necrotic venom(it actually rots the tissue), but if you get to an ER quickly, they can take care of the bite with a minimum of fuss. The dude in that nasty picture must have let it go for weeks before he went to the doctor.

BTW, if I told you how many times I've been bitten by snakes(all non-poisonous), you'd probably faint dead away. Heck, when I was a volunteer naturalist at a local park, I used to tease the milk snake into biting me in front of the little kids.
He'd be all p*ssed off and chewing on my arm, and I'd just nonchalantly explain that his teeth weren't even breaking the skin. Meanwhile, the parents would freak out, and the kids would crowd up for a better look...
I even used to do that with my Mom'* 7 1/2 foot black rat snake. The only time I ever saw blood from one of his bites was when I squeezed the crap out of one once. I had to squeeze so hard it left a big bruise, and all I got was one small drop.

BTW, your girl there isn't an Orb Weaver. It'* some type of hunting spider. You don't see too many web-laying spiders with spikes like that.

all that being said and as true as it is - im inclined to kill any spider or snake i see. this is my house, not theirs so i will kill them on sight. as for snakes, after my friend lost his thumb to a snake bite [stupid move on his part], im inclined to not have much love for snakes either. between assuming that a snake is harmless and assuming that i might lose a finger from it, ill choose to err on the side of caution.

Spiders = living = no killing IMO. AND they kill mosquitos!
