Default Holy CRAP!!

http://www.gpsinformation.org/jack/humor/Encounter.html

The story behind them is: Two F/A-18 Hornets from Top Gun Were dogfighting and made a head on pass, just a bit too close. One got home with part of the left wing and left vertical fin and rudder missing, while the other jet is missing everything forward of the cockpit pressure bulkhead - and is a flying convertible because the canopy is shattered too."
Ya gotta see it to believe it....

I've got similar stories from personal experience. With F-4'*, though.

ANd people take driving advice from you???

Seriously, tho, it always amazes me how much damage them things can take and still make it home. Probably need new upholstery (they would if I was flying them anyways)

I remember that. That was VFC-12 here on NAS Oceana. I have to say that site can go F-it'* self it was the fact that they where good that they got back. BOTH F/A-18'*.
My damm Navy internet (I'm @ work) is acting up or I'd link to the whole story.
We got what was left form the F/A-18 that burned in NC. We where able to salage some of the system parts out of it.

I think I saw that video on TV once

You should see the damage some A-10s come back with, heard one in Desert Storm
made it back with left vertical stabilizer and half of left wing shot away. Tough f***ing
aircraft.
