I've had a CCW for 5 years now and have pulled it 3 times and each time was justified according to the local courts. Twice the other persons had a weapon and once it was 2 guy'* who cornersd me at The HoDown in downtown Detroit. Neither guys were armed but i was out numbered and it was justified in the judges eye'*. Only thing that sux is they take your gun till the case is over for evidence. Glad i got 3 :P

The hardest part there is defining an "assault weapon." What is your definition? And is an "assault rifle" anymore deadly than my deer rifle?

Personally, to quote a line from a movie, "You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers". Human nature is too violent to ever give up any kind of advantage. Any nation that allows its citizens to bare arms increases its chance of survival.

In America its a constitional right, and if you bring up your children to respect the awesome power and responsibility of owning and baring a firearm, you greatly increase the chances they will never use one in a criminal act. Hell, I have a serious issue with the assault rifle ban. Although my first response when reading the laws was to find and exploit the loopholes.

I understand why some might balk at the thought of carrying a concealed weapon, or owning a firearm, however there is no excuse for burying your head in the sand. Anyone who wants to violate the law is going to carry it and when your proverbial back is against the wall, "negotiating with a kind word while backed up with a gun works a little better then a kind word alone".

By the way, Ryan, I'm glad you and your brother came out unscathed. I hope the nitwits who provoked this incident are caught and get the help they need.

all i can add to this is within the next month im going to get my handgun permit and get a 9mm or a 45 to carry now....

cuz what if it was just me at that food place, and it was those to vrs. me, that wouldn't have ended well for me if they try to do something... i may be big, but two Druged out kids can have alot of power when they cant fell any pain...

its always the " What If" and i like to have the upper hand in the "what if".

yeah, a normal person would duck and run like h*ll
Probably because they had guns too, and would pulled them in response to your brother in another couple seconds.

Either way, good to hear you're ok.

If they had weapons and pulled them, your brother probably would have had the right to drop them right there.
really?

If they pulled weapons and you feared for your life, yes, drop them. Immediately. There is no appeal from the grave, folks.

Bandit, are you 21? I thought you were younger. If you're younger, you'll be waiting a bit to own a handgun and get your permit.

Eric, this comment:
i said listen, you're white.

.....is a bit out of place and unnecessary, don't you think?

Everyone remember that every government that was taken over by a bad element did ONE thing first. They disarmed the population. Think about it.

High capacity magazine is the main qualifier, as well as collapsable stocks, no full auto of course. I don't know how it works in the states, but in Canada a rifle cannot have a magazine of more than 5 rounds.
