Wouldn't be worried about the weight, but how it effectively kills your gearing.

I call them "Clown Cars".
Only a clown would drive one and they look like they belong in a circus

You know, I'd diss this trend, but I can't. It'* very flattering to get frequent offers for $5000 or more on my car when I have it out and running! Best offer so far is $7500.

Keep in mind my car blue books for about $500, even with only 87,000 actual miles.

What does that have to do with this? Are you saying you have done this to your car, or that people want to buy your car so they can do it? If it is the first, well sorry if you were offended, everyone has different taste. If it is the second, well I guess I could understand what you mean. I love the older styles, would love to have one myself. I just don't want it to look like a monster truck, but to each their own I guess.

What bothers me the most about this trend is that I like that old body style and it lends itself very well dropping in crate motors w/cams, 12-bolt rear ends, and racing suspension. Now I can't afford to pick one of these up for the $300-500 they used to sell for.

I've been seeing these on the nearby city streets for a couple years now and it makes me feel sad for the cars...

There is always the Dodge Aires. I had one fo r$300, put in a new clutch and it was gogd as new. I don't hink ricers would touch it, and it would look pretty lame on 26'*
