I was reading that they are using the g8 front clip so they don't have to do a crash testing on it, therefore cheaper to produce.

As soon as i heard about the UTE version I was stuck on it. Since seeing the Aussie UTEs like the Holden or the Ford Falcon I have wanted one, I love the look!

I like it more'n the G8

I like this naming thing, I'll think of something at some point, but I really wish they named the cars rather than 2 or 3 letter/number combos :? Alot of auto makers are doing that...

anyway, I love it!

Hmm... I just don't like it. Reminds me of a Honda Del Sol with a longer body. I was never a fan of El Camino'* either though...

I totally agree...this thing is hideous. I'd date my sister before I was caught within 100 feet of that thing.

I just got back from Mexico and they already have a Chevy version of it without the V8 down there they call it the Tornado. Here is a link. There were everywhere.

I have liked it since I first saw it on the Holden site a couple of years ago.
I don't see anything wrong with it being labeled a Pontiac. If Pontiac were exclusively a sports-car brand, we would have Pontiac Corvettes (or Banshees) instead of Chevies. I think it is a good thing for the brand to have a broader product range. Chevrolet doesn't have anything in this market segment... yet.
I predict it will be a successful model and it will be cross branded as GMC and Chevrolet models a couple of years after its initial release.
