Default Hey my computer finally croaked

Well as you all know from my many posts about my piece of crap computer that had the failed posts and all.The computer thats less than 1 year old, My P4 Junker. Well today I got about a total of 30 IDE controller errors in the event log. Its been freezing all day. It even froze by me just moving the mouse. Tonight it was hard to keep it from freezing and having errors so we've decided to retire it and use our laptop until my new athlon 64 system gets finished. I got everything backed up on cd the other day so other thank the IDE controller going to crap I guess it could have been worse if I didn't do my backup. I am going to put all of the good parts in my new PC, hold onto the processor and trash the motherboard. So anyways I guess this means I wont be on here asking you a million questions about mysterious problems.

Well sounds like the mobo was the problem

I recommend a p4p series, like a p4p800 or p4c etc

I am working on building an amd system with the athon 64 3200+ , 1gb ram, 160 gb hard drive, MSI K8T800 Mobo and much more. I have already bought over 200 in parts for it. I got the PS, case, cdrw this week. As for my old system I am either going to put some of the parts such as the hard drive to use as the #2 drive, or I might fix it and sell it, I'll decide that after my new one is built

I might fix it and keep it. I dont know, Yeah the 64'* are expensive. The 3200+ is gonna rock, with all the goodies including 1mb cache. There around $299 at newegg now. Dropped 100 buck when the new 3400+ came out. Its gonna be sweet
