As for the hardrives. I like the idea for laptops so you get better battery life.

I could see the size being a big advancement as well. Laptops would get smaller/thinner.

I don';t think these will really have an impact until they at least come close to current harddrive speeds. These go at about 30Mbs and a single regular drive goes at about 100Mbs. even tests done on the drives that have some flash on them aren't living up to the dream.

I'm sure they will get up to snuff soon enough Popatim. I dont know alot about the internal workings of a computer and everytime I said why not a digital chip hard drive, my techie friends would laff and tell me it cant happen. Sending them the article and ribbing them about it.

Oh I agree with you there... sooner or later. But right now a 32Gb solid state hardddrive is like $600 and about 3x slower. they got a ways to go yet but it'll get there
