Default Have you turned on the furnace yet??

I'm making a new record for each day that goes by. My original goal years ago was that the furnace doesn't come on until mid-September. Then, the goal moved to keeping it off until October 1st. I was able to hold that achievement for a few years.

BUT...this year is totally different!! We haven't turned it on yet and I'm holding out until November 1st!!!

Call me weird, but I enjoy the low energy bills!!!

I've had mine on since earlier this week, only because I get free heat in my apartment where I live. It'* kicked on hardly at all though, that'* one nice thing about being on the ground floor, it'* half below ground so the temperatures stay warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer.

I rent an apartment unit and the furnace has been on for about two weeks now. It really doesnt matter to me when its on because my heating bill is included with my rent

Ive been down the oil heat route once which is why I vowed from that point on that I would NEVER rent a place that doesnt have the heat and hot water included.

I caved a few weeks ago... The ladies were getting chilly.

You're not crazy though. Gas is expensive. Sweaters/blankets are cheap.

Yup. It'* been on for a short while now, but it has hardly ever kicked on.
It was cool not too long ago, then it warmed up.
Our house is old, so it gets too hot when the heater is on, then gets cold shortly after it shuts off. :?
