Yea, I got an ego knowing that riding around in a Bonneville is a hella lot better than riding around in a stinkin' Taurus, or even a Honda or Toyota with their squealing engines. In a Honda you hear VREEEEEEEE!!! as the engine is struggling to keep up the same pace a Bonneville in the next lane could be doing the same acceleration but with the engine making a lovely and soothing Vooooooom.....

So yea, I got an ego cus I know I drive one of the best. Not THE BEST, but one of the best cars you can own for the best bang for your buck.

the worst was a 2002 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab dually running a 8.1L Big Block.
Must of been modded. They're not that quick because of weight. My ego was starting to settle a bit till my ricer cousin told me to get a "real sports car". Funny thing is hes never even sat in my car. So, yea i'm back at it tearing up the road again.

For the whole story, go here.

I don't know about the 8.1L but our 5.3L silverado has some good pickup for a truck definately..

as for the ego thing, I don't really have that unless the person is driving too slow then I have to pass them.

Could be that the 8.1L Big Block was modded, I don't know for sure, I saw no signs of modding, there was no large diameter exhaust, the tip looked factory, hell, the whole truck looked stock.

I love the Bonneville and I get a massive ego trip every time I drive it, I even attempted to race Camaro Z28s, Trans Ams. What a Idiot (Me)

I have to be honest. I didn't get an ego about my car until I got the GTP. The Bonnie was a nice car, but wasn't anything to brag about on a performance level. It'* the boost that does it for me...

I had an ego problem until a GTP killed me "at the track"

or when the grandma in a regal gs cut me off to get on an onramp, and I was WOT.

but yes when I had the SSEi I had a serious problem not leaving behind parts of my tires when a ricer reved his 4 banger.

I will stop talking because I am getting into dangerous territory.

Yeah, the 5.3 and the 8.1 oh don't forget the 6.0 V8 are remarkable engines, they're good and strong. Wonder if I could shoehorn a 8.1L V8 in my Bville? Yup, a Regal GS and a GTP can be killers but I recently challenged my cousin with his Jetta turbo (that'* in a other thread) to the drag strip. Wait until spring to find out which one is better. Hope my ego doesn't deflate if I do get beat.
