i got a f'in ticket last nite. 78/60 the exact speed i got before on the same road just further south. ill post a pic of the ticket, but i definately wanna take it to court. can a cop give you a ticket without radar? because my radar detector never went off and he didnt put radar on the ticket, just 78/60.

are radar detectors legal in your state? some states they arent, so if they arent in yours the defense of "well my radar detector didnt go off" probably wouldnt work too well.

But I wouldnt think he could give you a ticket without actually knowing how fast you were going...speed isnt something that can always be gauged easily with the naked eye, so he must have had some way...perhaps a newer device that isnt picked up on radar detectors?

its like 3-4 yrs old, but it still picks up plenty of radars. and whether they were legal in my state or not, i wasnt planning on using the radar detector thing as my defense. i just wanted to know if i can challenge the fact that he didnt use radar.

Well in NY, i know Cops can give you a ticket even wiuth they just see that it looks like your going to fast, so i bet they could in you state also, I might be able to fight it and get it down to a traffic ticket or a lower speeding one. :?

Prolly wasn't radar.....More than likely Laser.....And unless your detector can pick up Laser, you're pretty much screwed.

They also don't have to state the method of obtaining your speed.

In ohio, they have to prove that they used a radar, since they record the speed. If not, you can easily get out of paying the fine.

Dude, you should file a discrimination lawsuit against the cop, he'* profiling people. I bet he'* targeting skinny white people who drive rice.

Those dirty bastards.....

I do have to agree with Nate, laser is replacing the radar now. You're screwed over and over...
