Hopefully they're better than the lessor Harmany remotes... I've used them before and I must say I was NOT impressed. It seems all it is is a basic learning remote with a screen. Not a touch screen, mind you, just a screen. and it complicates the hell out of things. I've never been able to set one up right, and I think you need a doctorate in computer science to set up a receiver right...

I snagged one from Projector People this week and waiting for it to arrive. Loots of good reviews and some mediocre reviews.

Seems to be decent enough to program via a PC interface. What sold me is the touch screen interface. Just press the icon and the activity you want happens. That is if you want to watch a DVD just press DVD on the touch screen and it happens. The remote turns on the AVR, DVD player, and the TV plus does all the switching to make it happen.

My wife is having a hard time with 7 remotes and I think this will solve the problem.

The biggest drawback is that the remote is IR only on RF. All my devices are IR.

My reason for posting is to see if other members have the same remote so I could bounce trouble shooting ideas off of them.

Pete:
I will let you know about needing a doctorate. I hope not but I am the type of guy that will work with it until I have it mastered. Pretty cool in some respects. You can download icons for TV or Music station and they will appear in the touch screen if you have the remote activity active to change channels on the cable box. Pretty cool stuff.

Check out this website for icons.

If the programming interface is similar to the Harmony 1000 (also done via a USB link), you won't have any problems. Getting it set up is quite straight forward. Yours sounds much like mine in pressing an icon and having it turn on each required component and set all required inputs. It took me about 30 minutes to gather all my model numbers and enter everything. Mine required an internet connection to use the programming interface.

I used to have a Philips ProntoNEO. it was a cool enough remote, except it wasn't very stable. It alway hung and I had to take out the batteries on a regular basis. The Logitech is far better this way.

I have the Xbox 360 Version, and bought my parents a 520 for christmas.

They're great, makes everything easier. I've kept my AVR'* remote out for now since i'm still trying to figure out the best surround processing for different modes, and that'* easier to do through my Onkyo Remote.

No where near a basic learning remote with a screen. Have to think activity based, and setup your custom buttons and you'll be blown away.

I would suggest setting it up with your devices, Then perhaps keep a list of things you'd like to change about it, buttons to create etc.. I found that very helpful in actually getting to start changes with it.
