So 98 is already on that disc, but on a different computer?

I'm sure it will boot up. I've never tried that before.

i took the hard drive from the broken cpu and added it to my cpu as a slave. would i have to have the old hard drive as the master to boot off of it. i got to find a way to be able to select which os i want to use.

You need to edit you boot.ini file for your primary hard drive. What OS do you have on the primary drive?

The simple answer is yes. The C: drive needs to contain the OS. What you can do is make the HD with 98 your master drive, and then do a side by side install of 2000 next to it. 2000 should automatically recognize an OS installed and give you the option to install next to 98. Then when you boot 2000 will bring up a menu right away asking what OS you want to use.

That what your looking for?
