Default Hard Drive Diagnostic programs...

I'm pretty sure my hard drive is going, but I just want to make sure before I drop down 60 bucks for a new hard drive. Are there any kind of diagnostic programs out there that don't just spit out a benchmarking number? I hate those...

Sure there is, go to your manufactures website and download their utility. You might as well check the warranty status while you're there too. Also grab the utility to check the SMART info. SMART usually catches harddrive issue long before you notice them. Yo may need to enable SMART monitoring in your Bios.
