I hate this day. Something about it makes me remember things that aren't so great.
Even though I don't consider myself a vet, I look at those like my family and others who served and I have ask if I really did my part.
I look back on my time and I have plenty of stories to tell about various things. Then I think back to the older vets and how they don't/won't talk about what they've been through.
So with this in mind, I take this drink and salute those who have contributed more than I have in the name of military service.
For those of you still in uniform and those of you who may serve one day, may you come home as you left or may you leave a damn great impression on those you go against.
I wish no one has to hear a seven gun salute, if it doesn't bring tears, you've said bye to too many friends.
