Default Happy B-day to me

So, my B-day isn't til Sunday, but the wife let me get my presents tonight, sine we are doing some more work for Habitat tomorrow. Got a new 22oz framing hammer and a 30 ft. tape measure. Went the the Kobalt line for the lifetime warranty.

The tape measure is wide and has the magnetic tip, as well as having the marks for the 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 labeled

Yes, I know how to read a tape measure, but it never hurts having a quick guide. Plus, sometimes the wife has to use it.
Figured if I am going to be using these every Saturday for the next year, I'd get something I want to use.
And, Ms. Mackenzie wanted to help show off daddy'* new tools.

Ah, you got the waffle-face. Good, good. Smooth face hammers are useless for framing. You end up launching nails across the house at ungodly velocities...could put someboby'* eye out...

Happy birthday Brian!! I hope it’* a good one!

My best friend who is an electrician used a tape measure with a magnet tip to retrieve his Klein screw driver he dropped 10+ft down between 2 walls on the job site. Now he swears by measuring tapes with the magnetic tips, lol.

Yeah, I wondered about the waffle face, bt in the end it seemed to make more sense, and I have sent a few nails flying already.

I never thought about using the tip to retrieve something, thanks for the tip

Happy B-Day gojo!!!
