This is the day that the US celebrates their adoption of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776.

Over the years the holiday has lost it'* traditional meaning to many and is celebrated by most without remembering the significance of this event in our history. Wikipedia is a great resource for more information on this national holiday.

Enjoy your time with family and friends and have a safe and enjoyable 4th!
