Has anyone listened to what Kerry has to say on this? He was calling George Bush stupid and uneducated,, not the troops. He didn't apologize to the troops, he said he was sorry he wasn't more clear about who he referring to. His gaffe was grammar, not aim.

Yea, I totally agree...but I'm scared to start a political debate on BC about anything like this. I can write pages on a topic like this.

You are absolutely right, because I get enough of this crap on the CB.
No offense to anyone, but this shouldn't have been posted in the first placed. Politics is just to inflammatory, we don't need it here.

Some of us have been around here long enough to see a friendly, and sometimes slightly heated, political debate. If something is posted here that is a bit politically charged and as a group of adults, we can't be civil and keep the thing unlocked, then we all should take a step back and work on a bit of maturity.

PJ, I hate to say it, but when it comes to politics these days, it is very hard to keep things from degenerating into a screaming match. I myself would rather simply avoid the aggravation.

Problem is people can't debate. A friendly debate needs to follow the rules of a logical debate, and most people don't understand what they are or what they mean. Also, debates also have roots in thing people can not possibly see eye to eye on. How can you judge the morality of someone if you have 2 different belief systems? An atheist and Christian would disagree on the moral values a president needs to maintain, etc...

I think we can all agree that we're all great people regardless of our poltical/religous/other type of orientation, so why change it? At least keep it in a private setting so someone doesn't get ganged up on.

You guys are way off topic here. The only debate I saw was over the foliage in Iraq at this time of year. No one, was pushing their political views in this thread. You are both correct that politics, religion, and other emotionally debatable topics are and should be limited on BC... but IMO, you guys are the only ones doing the debating. Please stop. Thank you!
