I wouldnt keep that little friend around, they have communal "bathrooms" and it can cause serious health problems, look out if the urine seeps into the concrete (as it looks like a garage there).

They are smart, and destructive, a racoon is not a pet is only there for shelter and food, not for companionship.

Yea, I've had a bit of experience with racoons at our last family house. They liked our garbage shed.... The reason he stayed right there Chad, is because they are tremendously bold, and most racoons in an urban setting are used to people.

Dont let him hang around.

Well from keeping other "exotic" urban pets[cardinals, rabbits, squirrels. Mind you they were babys or small and seperated from the mother or fallen out of the nest] It wouldnt have been too bad. My mom raised one from a little less size than that one. Id rather have a baby one to start out with, makes it easier to break them of the "natural" habits. I hate the big ugly coons I have to chase outta the garbage. This fella followed me around. Melissa asked if she should come over and help "dispose" of the apparent "threat"

Racoons are kinda creepy. They just look a little too intelligent...

Rodents are damn smart creatures. Squirrils know the range in my yard I can shoot at them and they stay away from that area. And yes, feed a racoon and it will be you're pet if you like the idea or not.

I shot one once...it had rabbies....was staggering around the backyard in the middle of the afternoon (sure sign). It went into the barn and hid. I grabbed the 22 from the safe, loaded it, hiked up my jeans and did my best cop imitation, peeking around doorways and stuff. The little guy was hiding behind some drywall and bike carcasses.

It poked it'* head out and I thought ( as only a woman can) "....awwww...how cuuuuute...maybe it'* just confused...maybe it'* a lost baby...maybe..." then WHAM! That "cute" little sucker leaped at me. the bike carcasses were the only thing that kept it from attacking me. I think the shear force of my scream launched it back behind the drywall....

After checking to be sure I didn't wet myself, I was ready again...the next time it poked its cute little head out from behind the drywall...BANG...got it right between the eyes. <whew>. Then I proceeded to yell at my husband for not being there when I needed him to be.

Had an incident with an opposum once too....but that'* another story...

Definately need a .22 to take those buggers out... they'll just look and laugh at you even with a higher power .177 pellet gun

.22 LR is fun fun fun
