Wake is just impressed with my work on car and the fact that when not in a "touched" mood .... I can be very level headed and relate to youngers members because I'm an eternal teenager with a lifes worth of situations to reflect to others. I getting embarrassed with the whole thing, this isnt an issue , and someone please lock it and lets go on with the day. I'm actually feeling pretty good without Meds or beer so far .....Dont make me get all f'd up.

Although I do believe they tend to pick people that have been here a bit longer...

What a person drives or how they modify it has nothing to do with being a Moderator. It has nothing to do with the car whatsoever.
Case in point, a Moderator on our Forum doesn't even OWN a Bonneville, and the Site Owner and one of the Admins don't either.
The Moderators and Gearheads are carefully selected for the Forum based upon need and certain qualifications. We add Staff as we feel the demand of the forum activity dictates.
Typically, it'* when the Moderator or Gearhead teams are getting overloaded and ask for help.
Case in point, a Moderator on our Forum doesn't even OWN a Bonneville, and the Site Owner and one of the Admins don't either.

The thread subject has requested a lock, so I will do just that. I would like to say, though, how we pick moderators.
Every so often, when we (mods, admins, owner) feel we need another moderator or two, the most recent mod is told he/she should come up with a list of options, based on forum longevity, posting behavior, "people skills", etc. The rest of us put in our thoughts and suggestions. Then the last mod makes his/her pick. It'* not a popularity contest, or a nice car contest, who'* faster... nothing like that. It'* more about who'* level headed, around a lot, garners a little respect here and there... stuff along those lines.
I am NOT locking this because moderators were brought up, just honoring the wish of the thread subject.
