Gulabjamun, anyone?
I was suprised this afternoon by my mentee at work, Sangeeta, originally from India, with half a kilogram of gubaljamun. It'* some sort of Indian treat. Looks like donut holes in syrup. Made out of ghee, cardamom, sugar, flour and something else. Good initial taste, but I didn't care for the aftertaste all that much.
I've seen another co-worker from India give his mentor food a couple times. Am I expected to get her something in return?

Boyz!!! Yes, it would be a nice idea to reciprocate the gesture. Have your wife make something that is something from your heritage. It would be nice.

being indian myself, i am very familiar with that dessert! my dad loves it. i prefer barfee'*. jwikoff, ask him if he can give you some barfee to try. it is wonderful! everyone asks me if my mom always makes curry at home. she occasionally does, but she can't do it too often cause the smell will permanently stink the house up like curry.
it'* potent stuff!
