Your part right. That isn't the GTX. But it isn't the G6 either.

It is the G8. The prototype GP from 2000-2001. Here is the info on it:

and for those of you who noticed... there are different hood scoops n this one vs the pic in the post above. There were 2 or 3 variations of the G8 the were released in various press releases over that time period.

The G6 is the 2003 prototype from Pontiac. Here is the info on that one:

A GTX is a kit that can be purchased. You buy a Grand Prix, either a GT or GTP, and then send it to SLP (and give them $4000) and they put on the hood, spoiler, exhaust, etc.... So just because it is a GTX does not mean it is Supercharged.
THe first pic when you click on the link is the GTX. The pic below is the GPX. I don't have a pic of the G6 or G8 on my post! THe GTX that I have seen out on the street don't necessarily have to have stripes on it. Plus the REAL GTX has Ram Air in it besides a supercharger!

It is the G8.
Yeah, I know, I couldn't remember if it was the G6 or G8 at the time.

NO! A GTX is just an AFTERMARKET KIT sold by SLP that can be installed on a GT or GTP. It has ram air and an exhaust, besides all the appearance items. A GTX does not have to be Supercharged, although most of them are.

Well, here is a link that may help to clear most of this up....

http://www.grandprix.net/limited/indexjs.html

Doesn't have them all, but most. If the GP board doesn't know then we'll never figure it out....LOL

I agree completely...I haven't swooned over a GP since '95, I accepted the '96-current, but that G8 is hideous! It may have power, but what the heck is with the styling???

What a waste of sheet metal...and they call my Bonnie "garish".

The '04'* are ugly, and they look cheap IMO. As much as I try to like them, because I really WANT to like the '04'*, everytime I try to like them, I find something else I don't like about them. And the exhaust tips are UGLY!!!

It'* like I said, you don't have to have a GTP to get a GTX, but you shouldn't listen to me, what could I know, I only have 2 Grand Prixs.

Actually it is the '97-2003'*. '96 was still the '88 body style, but I do like the looks of the '88-'96'* more than the '97-'03. Our TGP looks WAY more mean than our GTP, but of course our GTP is WAY more mean than the TGP, so it makes up for it.
