Where can I find the cheapest U-Bend replacement for a GP?

u don't need a specific piece to replace it with........just gonna need a fitting for the 02 sensor on the side. pfyc has one (whole replacement piece)......and its way too expensive for a 6"? section of tubing. most custom/performance exhaust shops should have a quick fix........

So if I just find a pipe wide enough, I can cut it and put it in place of the u-bend, and I'll be alright?

I would probably have to get a rear O2 simulator also.

Or you could get a pipe in place of the u-bend and then drill a hole in the side of it and then get a tap and put threads in it for the 02 sensor. It will save you the $40+ that the simulator costs, and it will work properly. Thats what I would do.

What did you do for your GTP? The 12sec one?

The GTP has an aftermarket donwpipe/high flow cat/u-bend replacement combo on it. It was like $300+ though. It is a very nice unit and provides like a 9whp gain or something like that but it is kinda pricey and not cost effective IMO. The GTP has a $2k exhaust on it, so its probably not one that you want to copy.

The link to that pipe is here if you are interested:

http://www.3800performance.com/vehic...97_03_miva.htm

We don't have that exact piece, we have the one that welds up the headers, but its basically the same thing.

EDIT...I guess I can't easily link straight to it, so just click on the headers/exhaust link and it is the Random Technology Downpipe/High Flow Cat.

That is pretty nice. Something I would look in to in the future.
