is there ne way to take out the governor...... im looking at a gto.... i dont want it to be a girly pos that tops at 120....... so website on how to get to and take out would be very help.... in advance

There are two 'governer'*'. One is a rev limiter, the other is a speed limiter.

Your car tops out at 108, not 120. You can get a reprogrammed eprom for your PCM from www.gmtuners.com

However, your car doesn't have enough horsepower at the upper rpm'* to go much over 115-120 to begin with.

Aero drag and horsepower are funny animals. I'm off to calculate yours right now.

No they can't. The GTO is a CAN-bus interface. GM tuners doesn't have that capability.

I'm preety sure gto'* can get up to 160 stock without a tuner

and I believe we have a member with a gto that can give more insight to it
