contrary to popular belief, i am not perennially late. i am always at least 5 mins early, unless ive made a bad decision beforehand, which happens very rarely. in this instance, i had made a bad decision and that was to stop at mcdonalds on my way to work. i usually leave half an hour before work and its a 15 minute drive - at most.

you cannot set your clock forward and have it help you, because you know you set it forward. or even if you didnt, you find out very quickly. more importantly, i dont have to set my clock forward to help me get anywhere on time - im usually early for everything.

as for getting out of it by going to school or something, no. as far as im aware, theres nothing like that offered. it would be nice, though, because even with no traffic violations in 4+ years, this still makes 6 points on my license.

where im at i can take a 25 dollar clas once a year for the rest of my life that wipes the ticket off and i get 10% off my insurance

Police around here will let almost anyone with a military ID off with only a warning unless you really did something major.

your license has points on it if you have ever had any sort of violation.. in MN and probably IA, they dont really go off of that, or even let you know about them, but you can request them... however the insurance company also has a point system that is different than the DMV that they base your rate off of.

so when i found something wrong with my insurance premuim, i requested my driving record and it was actually different than what the insurance was showing because they considered a window tint ticket a minor equipment violation... i contacted the insurance company and told them it was just window tint and they took it off.. my rate dropped because of that

there was an unforseen consequence of my newfound [albeit, likely temporary] appreciation for the law . . .

my mpg has increased by roughly 10 mpg

silver lining, right?

BTW: $116. not as bad as i thought. im just going to cut them a check and send it in saturday.
