No kidding. If you're tired of that one, you're going to have to go big (read: DSLR) if you want to upgrade - and then you lose any size advantage and will have to revert back to your old point and shoot when you don't want to lug equipment around.

It'* got image stabilization and a hot shoe for flash 'fer cryin out loud!

Yup, and the hairline scratches didn't show with my old camera but do with this one. I've been taking pics of my cat all day and they almost look pro and i'm a photography noob.

I just bought a Panasonic DMC-FZ7. Due to it being almost winter I haven't taken any car pics yet.

Grimm, that'* a really sweet picture considering the shutter speed and the fact that you were using the flash.

I'm going to have to try that sometime...

I have one of these old school babies, was my grandfather'* so it'* kind of speacial to me

We had a cheapo 4 MP no name digital camera from walmart ( yeah, that'* why most of the pics of my car have been kinda dark and crappy) that crapped out after a year.

Now for a digital we just picked another cheap job, but it has 7MP and at least now I can get audio with my videos, it'* a Pentax Optio M20.

Thanks. I'm new to all the manual stuff, so that was when I was messing around one night. I don't remember why I had the shutter speed that slow, but it came out good I thought for a newb. I almost got an S3 myself, but I just couldn't pass up the $100 savings of the FZ7, and from what I've taken the noise isn't going to be an issue to me.

Canon is always a good choice.

Here'* mine:

Low(er)-end D-SLR compared to many, but it does everything I need it to do. I have some good lenses to make up for it.

Pentax K1000... amazing! I used one in photography class in high school - they're just about the most popular student/school camera. Robust, sharp, great to learn with.

I might be getting my hands on an older manual focus Minolta X-700 in the near future from ym uncle... I can't wait.
