Is this a good deal?

Go to Autozone or NAPA and buy one for the same price. Or cheaper at Harbor Frieght.

The online listing for Napa was like $90. Autozone didn't list one.

My local Autozone had one a couple weeks ago when I called for 48 bucks. They said they'd even DELIVER it to me.

6 blocks away. Think they would have just pushed it down the sidewalk?

I have the 1000 lbs engine stand from harbor freight. roommate has one too. It is currently holding a 71 Buick 350 without issue. Interesting design. I like my 1200lbs one that I got off Craigslist.

I would try craigslist first. can find good used for around the same price as a new, cheaper one.

As for hoist, rent if you'll only need it once, buy if you will need it often.

Or better yet..borrow engine hoist from buddies over 3 years ago and have trouble giving it back because they don't "need" it yet.

Then..borrow one of the three engine stands from mechanic buddy. k

Ask around with your friends..someone has a stand/hoist sitting around that they will gladly loan you.
