sounds familiar, just had a 3in, and 31x10.5 mt'*, you would be surprised how much better it looked and performed with those little things. some good off-road shock go a long way too. i drove mine on the road, in the snow, and towed a trailer with camping crap when i tented it still, so couldnt go crazy with lift and tires but the shocks i had where definately more off-road designed than on-road but just had to be careful when turning. for a long time the jeep and firebird were all i had

Dan Congrats on the XK trade !! Good Choice!!
One of my first mods were new tires as my KJ came with wrangler ST tires..they were crap.
I went With GY wrangler Silent Armor (kevlar belt) in 17'* and SpiderTrax 1.25 Wheel Spacers kicks wheels out a tad for handling/ Stability when basket is loaded.

So many mods...LIFT_OME springs, Bilstein Shocks, Jeepinbyal gen 4.5 upper control arms, Boiler'* 3/8 steel top plate spacer (to level front) Teraflex bumpstops,
F-150 high beam fog light mod.
Led interior puddle lights, PML 1.5 over stock aluminum transmission pan w/ drain plug.
Riddler Cast Iron rear diff cover with Lubelocker gaskets.
Setina Push Bar reinforced down to skid plate, Rola Roof Basket....etc etc...

Ya Dan also that steel whip antenna is an armpit hanger.
If you see my photo, the shorty rubber replacement is available for under $20.
