Give me about two weeks and I'll have a pile of 'em made!
Hehe... my hand-made prototypes aren't very pretty compared to what can be done with CNC
They will be less than any other ring currently available though, but I'm not 100% sure how much I'm going to charge 'till I know how much the aluminum is going to run.

I think I'm going to leave the hand-made ring alone.
But if I make a really big batch of CNC rings then I might see about getting some anodized. Hmm.... a factory gray would be cool.... so would black, red, silver, white, etc. to match the paint color.

I'm in the design stages right now. Hope to have a completed drawing and G-Code by tonight.

And the finished part in Inventor!

Now to import it to MasterCam so I can set up tooling and generate some G-Code action that I can stick into a CNC machine so that it will cut some parts for me

Edit:
After many hours of work and patience at getting Inventor to load on my crusty old laptop, I finally have a wireframe model in Mastercam.

Mastecam is software that generates toolpaths for CNC machines and will then convert the paths into G-Code after all the toolpaths are correct.
...now if I could only remember how to use Mastercam
Anyway, more fun stuff laters

And a video of the toolpaths and animation. I used a freebie bit of software that added a watermark, but you get the idea. I need to tweak the numbers for the depths of cuts, but otherwise its almost ready to go.
I'm shooting for next week to start cutting

PS: If anyone knows of any software that would record stuff like this that doesn't have a watermark then let me know
